School closure - On-going issues with no water
Tue 30 Mar 2021Dear parents and carers,
Please be assured that school have been liaising with United Utilities since last Friday over a continually worsening situation with water supply, which is now too poor for school to function. We have been advised several times (including last night) that the problem would be resolved/water would be sent. We are absolutely furious that we have had to close and have escalated the complaint several times with UU. Please feel free to lobby United Utilities if you so wish.
Again we are sorry for the inconvenience and will do all we can to get the school open as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
Mrs Bland and Miss Wilson

Update: Water
Mon 29 Mar 2021United Utilities have arrived on site and hopefully will be able to fix our supply. As a contingency for tomorrow, we have ordered cold water tanks from Derbyshire County Council to use for handwashing if the water supply cannot be fixed. Cold water is suitable for handwashing with COVID so long as soap is used.

Closure
Mon 29 Mar 2021We are very sorry to let you know that we need to close school this afternoon as we have no water at all, therefore children are unable to use the toilets and wash their hands.
Please collect children from their usual class/gate. Please do not worry if you are delayed in reaching school. We will keep hold of children, including those booked in to Night Owls.
We are in contact with DCC and United Utilities to get the situation resolved as soon as we can.
Many thanks,
The School Leadership

WORLD BOOK DAY
Wed 03 Mar 2021It's World Book Day tomorrow and children in and out of school are invited to wear their pyjamas for the day and to bring/show their favourite bedtime read. They can also build their own reading nooks/dens (remember to post your photos here or on Google Classrooms). Book vouchers are available this year. Please see the Reading Newsletter on the website (under Newsletters) or see the post on Facebook. It promises to be a fun-filled day, even if it is a little different this year!

Re-Opening: March 8th 2021
Mon 01 Mar 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
As our last newsletter stated, we are aiming to open the school to all pupils on March the 8th. We are not planning a staggered return and will be welcoming all children back together. We do not expect there to be changes to how school was functioning before Christmas, therefore have no new plans to communicate to you. There may be tweaks to the Forest School timetables from next week, but you will receive a text informing you of this. Before and after school provision will continue as it was before the Christmas break.
Please get in touch if you are unsure of any details about the return.
Many thanks,
Mrs Bland and Miss Wilson
