Safer Internet Day 2024

On Tuesday 6th February, we took part in Safer Internet Day.

Our children in Year 1/2 took part in a special assembly where they discussed the key theme of change and about how much technology has changed in recent years. We also discussed about why we might like to be online and that small changes can happen online very quickly. Our children know that changes can bring about many different emotions but that if we notice any changes online, we need to tell a trusted adult. It was also important to think about how we stay safe online in school. We always use the same device so that our adults in school can check that we are making safe searches.

In Year 3/4 and Year 5/6, we had the amazing opportunity to take part in a live assembly held by Tech She Can. The lesson was called Tech For Gen AI which covered topics such as: how AI can be used in their daily life, how it might develop in the future and also informed the children of ways in which they could have a future career in AI. We loved this session because it helped us to understand AI more and think about how computing will be useful to us, even after we finish at Dukes!
