What We Have Been Up To
Art 2b. What are the primary, secondary and tertiary colours, and how can you lighten or darken them?
Key Stage One have enjoyed exploring how to create secondary colours by mixing primary colours and how we can mix secondary colours to create tertiary colours. They also loved investigating how to create lighter tints and darker shades. They discovered that we can add white to a colour to create a lighter tint and add black to a colour to create a darker shade.
Science 1b: What are the main parts of the body and how can we look after it?
Key Stage One have loved exploring the parts of the human body and the five senses. We went on a five senses walk around our school grounds. Back in class, we linked each object we found to our five senses and identified the part of our body that we use for each of our senses.
We found out what a balanced diet is and why it is important. We found out about the different food groups and the important job each of them do for our bodies. We worked with our partner to create a balanced plate. Afterwards, we discussed our choices with our class.
History 2b: What was being a child in Glossop like in the past?
We enjoyed going on a local walk to look at how the houses in Glossop have changed. We noticed differences in the materials used, the shape of the windows & the colour of the bricks.
