Dear Parents/Carers,

 

New Mills School has shared the message below with their school community today.  Whilst this happened in New Mills, we know it may be relevant to some of our families who have children there. It is also good to give children (especially those who walk home alone) regular reminders about stranger danger.

 

'We have been made aware that a member of our school community was followed home from school yesterday.  This has been reported to the police who are investigating the matter.  The description we have received is a male wearing dark clothing and sunglasses/public areas.  If anyone has any worries/concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child's year manager.

Please discuss with your child the importance of walking to/from school and where possible with a friend, sticking to well-lit/public areas.'
