The Duke of Norfolk CofE Primary School

Welcome

Welcome back to school, we are so glad to be back!

We hope you have all have had a fantastic summer. This year has been a very strange one so far, and we are aware that you may be feeling a little anxious about your child coming back to school. We can reassure you that we are following all the guidance set out by the government and we will update you if there are any changes.

When you drop off your children in the morning, please send them into school straight away (doors open at 8:50). At home time, please wait (socially distanced) by the outer fence and your child will come out with their class line by the building and come over to you.

When it is your child’s turn for Forest Schools, they can come into school in their Forest Schools clothes and stay in them all day. A change of shoes would be a good idea (P.E. trainers can be used). This is the same for P.E. days. Please send your child into school wearing trainers, jogging pants, blue school P.E. t-shirt and school jumper or cardigan.

On our website page, you will find more information about the Year 3/4 curriculum and which days your child will be doing Forest Schools/P.E. Our learning will start this year based on the book ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers which is designed as a transition unit to get the children to settle back into school life.

Our shared aim is for your child to have a happy and successful time in Lower Key Stage 2. At Dukes, we feel that openness, honesty and kindness are key factors in achieving this, so please let us know if you have any questions or queries. We will always do our best to help.

We look forward to a super year!

Best wishes,

The LKS2 Team
