Spellings

Helpful ideas:

Squeebles App - You have to pay for this app but it is useful for some children! You can edit the spellings each week, record your own voice for your child to listen to and it turns the spellings into fun games! This can help some children to remember their spellings as they are practising it in lots of different game formats.

Magnetic letters - Choose an amount of spellings to focus on and write them on the fridge (or similar) in magnetic letters. Remove all unnecessary letters. At night (ready for the morning) or periodically during the day, muddle them up and ask your child to write the words with the letters. Once they remember those words, add another until they are confident with them.

Other options - paint the words, make the words with playdoh or letters from a newspaper/magazine, practise verbally, chalk the words on the floor.
