Enrichment Opportunities

In Key Stage 1, we went on a local walk to find the Vivienne Westwood mural as part of our work in the history unit 'Who from my area has achieved extraordinary things?'

In Key Stage One, we discovered what life was like in an Anderson shelter during World War II.  We thought about the experiences of children who were evacuated, we had the opportunity to handle historical artefacts and we sang songs that helped to lift morale during the war.

In Lower Key Stage 2, we discovered why the Romans invaded Britain & what life was like under Roman rule during our Roman Day. We discovered how historians find out about the past through archaeology.

In Upper Key Stage 2, we enjoyed learning more about life in Victorian times during our special Victorian Day.  We discovered that school life was very different than it is today.

Whole school 80s day.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Comic Relief, our whole school went back to the 80s.  We learnt about how fashion has changed, we listened to 80s music and we thought about how life is different now.

V.E Day

In May, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of V.E Day.  LKS2 enjoyed designing commemorative plates.
