Maths

In maths, this term we have been focusing on 'number'.  We have looked at place value, rounding, negative numbers and the formal written methods for the four calculations.

One of the areas we really had to concentrate on was the formal written method for division.  Year 5's were looking at representing remainders in a number of ways, whilst year 6's were having to conquer long division!

To help us remember the many steps of long division, we used the mnemonic 'Does McDonald's Serve Cheese Burgers Regularly?'. Have a look at our pictures to see if you can work out what the letters actually stood for?

'From tiny acorns, great forests grow.'
