The Duke of Norfolk CofE Primary School

In our English lessons we cover a wide range of grammatical techniques, applying them to multiple different genres and styles of writing such as:

- descriptive writing

- narrative writing

- poetry

- non-chronological reports

- newspaper articles

- biographies

- etc.

Our English work is structured around a high quality text for each topic. This term we are looking at The Great War and focusing on the text Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo. We will be focusing on descriptive writing and the use of expanded noun phrases and cohesive devices to create a detailed, flowing piece of text.

School Library

We really enjoy our class visits to our new school library.  Each week we get to go and select a new book to read and check out.  We recommend books to each other and have our own class librarians to check out the books for us.
