Whole School Art Day

World Art Day is celebrated globally on 15 April, a date chosen by UNESCO to honour the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci. At Dukes, we know that the teaching of art is a fantastic way to encourage self-expression, build community, and showcase creativity across all year groups. Over the course of the day, Dukes pupils were able to take part in a range of art activities from across the world. The activities included learning about the history of, and making our very own sacred hearts (Mexico), Aboriginal dot art (Australia) and Koinobori kites (Japan). Children and staff alike had so much fun creating lots of wonderful artwork, some of which has been put on display throughout the school.
