Duke of Norfolk CofE Primary School

Curriculum Enrichment

At the Duke of Norfolk school, we strive to provide our pupils with a wide range of enrichment opportunities and a broad curriculum.  It is our intention that through thoughtful planning of trips and experiences throughout the year, ALL of our children will be able to access an enriched curriculum which will develop their aspirations for the future.  As our school motto states, ‘From tiny acorns, great forests grow’.  We recognise that every individual child has their own strengths and talent, but they must be given the opportunities to allow these talents to be discovered and developed. Through deliberately planning enrichment activities, we are allowing our pupils to discover a variety of alternative careers and aspirations which they may not have had prior knowledge of.

As a school we recognise that the ‘forest’ we speak of is not just our school and its catchment area, but also the local community of Glossop, its surrounding areas, our country and our world.  We pride ourselves on developing ALL of our pupils and giving them the tools to become upstanding global citizens through the activities we provide which expands their cultural capital.
