Swimming

This term, Oak class will be having swimming lessons at Glossop Swimming Baths each Tuesday morning.  A letter will be coming home before the start of the first week of term with more detailed information, including the start date of the lessons.  Accompanying this letter will be a permission form which must be completed and returned detailing your child's current swimming abilities, as well as any additional health information which we need to know.  These lessons form part of the national curriculum and therefore all children must take part.  

PE

Please ensure that your child brings their PE kit in on the first day of school.  Information about the required PE kit can be found in the 'Parents & Guardians' section under 'School Uniform'.  Please be sure to check that your child has removed all jewellery on their PE days prior to coming to school, as we are not allowed to remove jewellery for them, and it also helps to prevent any loss of items. If your child is unable to take part in a PE lesson for health reasons, please be sure to send a note to their class teacher.

Oak class: Monday PM and Tuesday AM  (Swimming Kit)
Willow class: Wednesday AM and Friday PM 
Beech class: Monday PM and Friday PM (Forest School)

School Library

Each week, your child will have the opportunity to visit our school library and choose a book to take home.  We ask that your child is sure to return the book each week.  If your child has not yet finished their book, as we know some children will be reading much 'thicker' books in years 5/6, they will be able to check out the same book again.
