Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. At the Duke of Norfolk, we encourage our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community. In doing so we help develop their sense of self-worth. We teach them how society is organised and governed as well as about their rights and responsibilities. Through our curriculum, the children learn to appreciate what it means to be a positive member of a diverse multicultural society. PSHE is taught following the agreed Derbyshire syllabus ‘Attitude, Skills, Knowledge' (ASK). It is taught both as stand alone lessons and as discrete lessons through other subjects such as science and English.
