Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. At the Duke of Norfolk, we encourage our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community. In doing so we help develop their sense of self-worth. We teach them how society is organised and governed as well as about their rights and responsibilities. Through our curriculum, the children learn to appreciate what it means to be a positive member of a diverse multicultural society. PSHE is taught following the agreed Derbyshire syllabus ‘Attitude, Skills, Knowledge' (ASK). It is taught both as stand-alone lessons and as discrete lessons through other subjects such as Science and English.
