History

The Romans

We have been learning all about the Romans in History. We looked at the land conquered by the Romans on a map, conducted our own research to answer questions about Julius Caesar, expressed our opinion on the Roman invasion of Europe and even wrote a job application to join the Roman Army! We then learnt about Boudicca’s rebellion and debated the pros and cons as a class, while in role as various characters from that period in time.

The Romans were very influential and made positive changes in Britain and other countries, particularly through their innovative architecture. As a result, we created our own Roman mosaics, sketched Roman columns and The Colosseum while paying attention to the intricate detail and created realistic vanishing points using The Palazzo Spada as our inspiration. This topic enabled us to be creative and we were able to share our work and learning with our families and friends during our Roman Exhibition Day, after enjoying a Roman feast of course!
