Ancient Greeks

This term, we have been busy researching about all things Ancient Greek! We have looked at how the Ancient Greek language has influenced our own language.  We have studied the Ancient Greek alphabet and written our own names and messages in Ancient Greek.  Through observing their architecture, we have been able to design our own Ancient Greek buildings.  After researching how they were schooled, I think it's safe to say most of us are pleased we didn't have to go to school back then (or not go to school - as was the case for the girls!). We have also really enjoyed researching all of the different Greek Gods and Goddesses - feel free to ask us for some 'Did you know' facts about these fascinating deities.

Ancient Greek Day

We had lots of fun during our day as Ancient Greeks.  We got to taste some lovely Greek cuisine - though not all of us liked everything on offer! We made some Greek pottery and acted out some Greek Myths in our own class theatre.

We loved sharing our projects with all of our families in our Ancient Greek Museum.  The projects themselves were fantastic - the children really excelled themselves!
